Never seen anything like that before in a game and I don't think I have since! Your standing in those Virtues is determined by pretty much everything you do in the game, so you gain Compassion by giving to beggars, you gain Valor by defeating foes, but you can also lose your status so if you flee from combat your Valor will go down, if you steal from people or swindle merchants you'll lose Honesty etc. They were really groundbreaking games back then, pioneering the way for open world RPGs, Ultima VII is my favourite in the series but I'll never forget how unique Ultima IV was either, where you've no fixed quest as such, you just become the Avatar by doing virtuous and heroic things, becoming a paragon of the eight Virtues in the game. I'm still kinda surprised I've never really played the series on the Amiga though, I had Ultima V for the Amiga as a kid but never got anywhere with it (partly cos I didn't understand the runic text back then!), so I'm probably going to go back and play the Amiga versions very soon.
FUTON ULTIMA III PC
Just wondered if anybody played the Ultima games on the Amiga much, and also if so, how they compare to the PC versions? To this day, the Ultima series stands as one of my favourite game franchises of all time, I was lucky to be able to pick up a box set of all the games up to and including Ultima VIII on PC probably around 20 years ago now, and I completed all of them back then.
